Haunter (in Japanese: ゴースト “Ghost”) is a dual-type GHOST-POISON Pokémon.
I named a Haunter “S. Thompson” after “Gonzo” writer Hunter S. Thompson. Thompson is best known for writing “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” and for being portrayed by Johnny Depp.
Perhaps, the late Mr. Thompson’s “Gonzo journalism” has a lot of appeal to all the “edgy” bloggers out there. “Gonzo” might also be a good name, but most will think you are referring to the Muppet of the same name. “Gonzo” is a first-person participatory writing style in which the writer becomes a satirical protagonist, unafraid of bashing our social norms and uptight traditions. Upon, reflection, I have much less respect for the writing style now, especially after Mr. Thompson’s suicide (He blew his own head off with a shotgun, which was actually quite “gonzo” when you think about it.) … but I certainly digress once more …
I named a female Haunter “Scary Spice” after Melanie Brown, one of the members of the Spice Girls.
I probably should have posted this one back at Halloween!
However, I know that many of you will be transferring your recently acquired shiny Gengar with the megastone from your XY to your Alpha-Omega games!
