Denny’s top ten digits: Favorite members of the AKB48 family (pre-Senbatsu election).

I’m just counting Sakuratan.

The AKB48 election is ongoing, and the votes are being counted. I would not even attempt to PREDICT the results …  however I want to make my top picks of who I think SHOULD be ranked.

Several of my favorites have recently graduated, or have announced graduation. My oshi – Iwasa Misaki – left AKB for a solo career. Former-Favorite Members such as Miyuki Watanabe or Haruka Nakagawa have not officially graduated yet (as of this writing), but they are not in the running, so I will not consider them for my top-ten.  Members I love like like Aika Ota have also announced that they will not run this year, in order to support her teammates. Also, I have been a little out-of-the-loop in my fandom. The AKB legal department has blocked my usual sources of music videos and  information. There are some members I still like, but I’m not sure about their status. Please excuse my ignorance, if I missed something obvious.

Coming up with ten digits should be as easy as counting toes. Here goes …

Ichi. Yuki Kashiwagi. Yukirin has always done everything right. Perhaps this will be her year to reach #1. She certainly deserves it. I think that after her next big solo concert tour this year, she will announce her graduation. I would like to see her go out on top.

Ni. Mayu Watanabe. I was very happy when she was elected #1 a couple of years ago. I have always liked her solo songs, and she was so great in the WH7, and well … IS so great at everything.

San. Sayaka Yamamoto. She’s beautiful – she’s sexy. The dark-haired beauty is so much more than a pretty face. She is a good singer, and it is enjoyable seeing her develop as a musician. Sayanee is an adept guitarist in everything from punk to folk. Could she play any Todd Rundgren?

Yon. Sakura Miyawaki. I might rank the young goddess higher – but for the problem of where to put her. She will, of course, take the #1 position someday. Sakuratan is adorable in all dimensions of the multi-verse. Although SHE is flawless, I am disappointed that the AKB/HKT48 have not let her perform more solo songs. The recent B-side duet with Haruppi was a good step in the right direction.

Go. Haruka Kodama. OK, you have got me. The young lady is strikingly beautiful and she makes me wish I had majored in podiatry. I try to keep my lust for her in check … but her modeling work is very, very good. I feel guilty about ranking a member so highly based more on looks rather than singing.  I can’t really judge Haruppi on singing-talents alone, because when I see her sing, it is usually part of a group effort. She was amazing in “Sayonara Surfer” last year however. More please.

The next few might be the “Are you still here” category. ? Ha Ha. No …

These are still my old favorites, but are interchangeable to some extent. I love all of them, but I don’t think that these would crack my top-five.

Roku. Yui Yokoyama. I always jump to attention when commanded to by Yuihan. If there were more bosses like her I would not mind so much being “called on the carpet”.

Nana. Haruna Kojima. Or is it “Nyan Nyan Kamen”? I’m still not sure about this marketing scheme. Why does the world’s most beautiful woman need a secret identity? Kojiharu – I would still recognize you, even if you were in your underwear!!!

Hachi. Minami Minegishi. I think that Miichan said that this is her last election. She has been one of my favorites, ever since I discovered and started following AKB48 way back in in 2011. She looked like a baby then. She still looks like a baby, but this baby can still deliver the goods.

Kyuu. Haruka Shimizaki.  Paruru will rise to meet any challenge. If the haters get to you, I’m here for you sweetie.

Ju. Rino Sashihara. I do not rank her as high as many fans will, but I still love this Irishwoman. I may disagree with her, but she still has the legs to win any debate. I concede to you Sasshi.

Well, those are my 100 reasons. Certainly, all ten of these are deserving of being the #1 in AKB48. Argue with me in the comments.

What happened to the COLOR options in the WordPress editor!?!? I used to be able to create color text. The button was there now it is gone … My signature “Starlight” sign-off is supposed to be written in RED. Otherwise, how would you know that I’m moving rapidly away from you, and not towards you? Now I am living in the “Black and White World”.

NMB48’s new single “Punkish” does not need the “ish”!

Anarchy in the Namba District!!!

The new NMB48 single has a pretty good punk guitar sound! Take it from someone who actually lived during the original late 1970s early 1980s punk movement. The girls do justice to the genre.

Of course, I love any Sayaka Yamamoto performance.  Sayanee is not a noob. She has been playing guitar in live performances for several tours now.  She’s not just another pretty butt – this lady is multi-talented. I am so happy to see her in punk. So nostalgic. “Pretty-in-Punk” as we said in the 1980s. Of course she would have kicked my ass even back then.

NMB New Wave! You also get to see the other band members play instruments too. Miyuki Watanabe also plays guitar!

I can just imagine me instructing Milky-chan on how to play the guitar. I would sit behind her … I would be putting my arms over her arms from behind — not quite a hug – but almost. Still, I can smell her hair.  She giggles. Then I take her hand, place it on the neck staff, manipulate her hand over the frets. She asks sweetly if she is doing it right.  Of course, Milky-chan I say … of course …

Sayaka Yamamoto’s suggestions for gaining 20,000 views on WordPress.

I have been on my blogging hiatus, however I checked in today in order to view/return messages and delete my spam.  I was pleasantly surprised to see that I have now accumulated well over 20,000  views on WordPress!!!

I have asked AKB48/NMB48 member Sayaka Yamamoto to be guest blogger today, so that I might continue to catch up at my day job — processing orders for agricultural chemicals.  Do you have some advice for those new to WordPress Sayaka-san?

1. Voice of Sayaka: You should follow other bloggers who have the same interests! Visit their sites, read their blogs!  Make suggestions. You may also come up with some great ideas!

If you are interested in “Interior Design” follow other bloggers with the same interests!

2. Make sure to effectively TAG your posts! Tags are a great way to group related posts together and they quickly tell readers what a post is about. The right tag also makes it easier for Internet people to find your posts!

3. Start a new SERIES! Choose one of your favorite topics and write about it regularly. You may want to start a weekly, bi-weekly or some other interval.  You may develop a new following!

Do not be afraid to SPEAK YOUR MIND!

This is NOT that kind of a blog!

Sayaka recoiled in horror when I told her that WP users want to see AkiP naked!

I am as shocked and disgusted as you are Yamamoto-san.

I do not like how WordPress has changed the “STATS” page.  I liked the old page much better, as it was more comprehensive and easier to navigate — but that is beside the point right now.

One of the items I like on the WP stats page is the “search terms” list which tells you the words that were being Googled or Binged in order to link to your site. There are more often than not “unknown terms” from these search engines, but a few search terms are still shown.

I was happy that I have had more than 15,000 views on my blog, but I am disgusted that so many perverts* are clicking to my site.  Just this morning, someone had linked to my blog by Googling “jap lolita father imcest”.  Yup. Someone wanted to view images or stories about “imcest” between a father and a Lolita daughter.  Now I love Japanese “Lolita” fashions, but in no way am I ever going to show any “imcest” (whatever that is) here.

I can’t count the times that the search terms that brought users to my site were things like “lesbi kimono” or “yuko oshima naked” “sayaka yamamoto nude” or “hot pix jap lesbi”. Believe me, it gets way worse than that. The words “akb48 lesbian” is probably the most common – which is news to me — as they are certainly not.  Of course, I love AKB48 and their fun outfits, however there is NEVER any nudity or vulgarity in any of the photos or music videos I share. Even for the “gravure” magazine ads, the girls never pose naked (…entirely).

Denny is NOT making this up:  Three days ago was the topper: someone visited my site by using the search terms “Yasushi Akimoto naked”. Oy.

Now, I can understand why the users might want to see the AKB ladies naked … but … um, er … huh huh. Look, I have the utmost respect for AKB’s lyricist/producer/boss – but WHO ON EARTH WANTS TO SEE MR. AKIMOTO NAKED???

Thank you Sayanee, this has all been very troubling for all of us here at Denny Sinnoh’s Akihabara Starlight …

You may have to console Milky-chan for awhile  … OH, I see that you already are.

“I need a big strong man to help me!”

Men … we have no defense for this phrase when it is uttered by a nice lady.  We would be especially helpless if it is asked by the two AKB48/NMB48 Idols Miss Sayaka Yamamoto (“Sayanee”), and Miss Miyuki Watanabe (“Milky”).  Ladies: Be honest. You ladies know exactly what you are doing when you say things like that to us.  You KNOW there is no way that a guy can refuse.  Here are two versions of the song “Warukii” (Waru Milky) aka “Bad Milky”.  Although the song was originally intended for Miyuki, Yamamato-san does a devilishly good job here. Turn on the HD!

See what I mean? HD …Grrrrowl.  Watanabe-san will be the next little devil.

Perhaps the video quality is not strictly comparable, and the performances are slightly different as well. I think that Sayaka is a “naughty” little devil, whereas Milky is a “sweet” devil.  I might make an analogy that they are like Devils Food Cake (recipe linked here) vs. Angel Food Cake (recipe linked here), but they are both dressed as devils, and both are beautiful angels — just different.

KIMONOS ON MONDAY (Week #22) – Sayaka Yamamoto

This week we will take a look at the wonderful NMB48 / AKB48 member Sayaka Yamamoto and some friends.  Count me amongst her “FANS”!

My mouse is very happy now!

I finally received my new NMB48 “Nanba Jichiku” (theater version) CD from Japan a couple of weeks ago.

Even the Japanese stamps make me happy!

I have been happily playing in on my morning commute every day. It is a lot of happiness, and I am not just referring to the cover photo.  I know — there is a lot of skin, but that is not the reason I have been enjoying it so much…

What’s the deal with the mouse, you ask?

Are any of you familiar with the famous experiment conducted by scientists studying addiction? These scientists would put a mouse in a box, and see if it could perform a task, such as picking the correct shape when prompted, or solving a puzzle, or running on a little wheel. If he performed the trick correctly, he would get a little reward. At first they tried rewarding the mice with food, and other things mice like.

Then the scientists got the idea that they could reward the mouse by just putting an electrode in a mouse’s brain that is set to stimulate his pleasure center if he presses the lever in his box. If he performs the right task, he gets to press the little level and get a dose of euphoria.

Turns out the mouse liked having his pleasure center stimulated by the electrode better than anything. The electrode charge was better than getting a drink of fresh water. It was better than sleeping in a soft pile of woodchips. The artificial stimulus was better than any food.  The electrode stimulation of the brain was even preferred over getting some mouse nookie with his mouse girlfriend.  Indeed, NOTHING was better than getting his brain’s pleasure center directly stimulated by the electrode.

Does the mouse live in an artificial word? Maybe.  The mouse is happy.

Who are we to judge this mouse who has found his own happiness?

Actually, most of the album does not all sound like the dance pop hit single. There is also a lot of sugary 1960s and 1970s flavored pop, some 1980s power pop, and some that are hard to describe. Like a “Rare Candy” it is a treat full of energy, sweetness and happiness.

I just bought the “Theater Version” on eBay. It is CD only, so no extra DVDs for me.

They are not all dance numbers, though. I dare say that the structure of some of them are a even little Beatles-esque.  I can just imagine Ringo, bobbing his head back and forth as he keeps the beat. 

… or maybe that is just the electrode talking!

It is pretty funny because the guy is played by Vanilla Ice, that white rapper from the 1980s. … or maybe it is Rick Astley (the “I’m never going to give you up” British singer kid). It is one of those two … I’m not sure.

Well, “word to your mother” … I am “never going to give up” liking this music video.

I know, there is still a lot of skin.  If you ask me, that guy should use some sunblock.  The dude gets so lucky with the NMB48 girls, that he even gets bored of Sayaka Yamamoto … DAM.

I also need to apologize to Mr. Yasushi Akimoto. Mr. Akimoto-san, at first I questioned the wisdom of your reassignments from AKB48.  At first I thought: Yukirin to the NMB48? What? Why?  … Now I realize what a stroke of genius it was to put Yuki Kashiwagi in with Sayaka Yamamoto and Miyuki Watanabe. I bow respectfully to you sir.

Sayaka Yamamoto? … DAM !

Sayaka Yamamoto is fast becoming one of the most popular members in the AKB48 family.  In the 2011 AKB48 general election, Yamamoto-san placed 28^th, in 2012 she earned 18^th, in 2013 she came in at 14^th, and in the most recent election last month, she rose to 6^{th  —} with nearly 68,000 votes!  Although Sayaka started with NMB48, she often performs and records with the main AKB48 group.  The rising popularity of this guitar-playing idol is not surprising. Sometimes when I share a video of the group, friends ask:  WHO IS SHE ?!?! … zero in, and point to Sayaka. Of course Yamamoto-san is a striking beauty …. In fact … DAM … most cannot view any of this idol’s photos without saying “…DAM”!   It is almost as if  “…DAM!”  is part of her full name. You say her name, watch her perform,  and  you cannot help but say “… DAM!” outloud. Sayaka is beautiful, but she is also concerned with renewable energy sources. Hydroelectric power is an important alternative energy resource.  Large hydroelectic dams need to be made to reduce the burning of coal and other fossil fuels.  In recognition of these concepts, I will present the following slide show of  Sayaka’s Top-Ten “World’s Largest Hydroelectric Dams”, with an accompanying photo of Ms. Yamamoto.  Click on an image below to begin the slide show!  Don’t forget to take the POLL at the end of the post!  Ha Ha, take the “dam poll” get it?

Note:  I do not usually post or describe “gravure” images of my favorite 48 members.  There is NOTHING WRONG with these types of photos of course.  There is no nudity (I prefer it that way), however they may be provocative (and thus FUN).  Gravure photo is just not what I am about.  I usually prefer to post outfits/situations that emphasize other amusing aspects of the idol’s character.  … but with Sayaka Yamamoto … DAM!
