HAPPY BIRTHDAY HANAKO OKU!
My friend Snivy is a huge Hanako Oku fan. Probably a bigger fan than I am — because he reminded me about The Little Great One’s upcoming Birthday on March 20.
(Snivy wanted to share a song by Ms. Oku-san … unfortunately, PonyCanyon Records has blocked all Hanako Oku music videos in the Unova Region.)
Starlight: Hanako Oku, born March 20th, 1978.

Japan is 12-hours ahead of us, so we wanted to be the first to offer our birthday wishes.
What’s that Snivy? You want to sing? OK …
It is not a Hanako Oku song, but Snivy thought that Miss Oku would like it.

What an angelic voice. Snivy should audition for an idol group.

Reblogged this on `The Penguin' says… and commented:
Happy birthday, Oku-san! Tanjoubi omedetou gozaimasu / 誕生日おめでとうございます
tanjoubi / 誕生日
“birthday”. Composed of tanjou / 誕生 (“birth”) and hi / 日 (“day” with rendaku)
omedetou / おめでとう
“congratulations”
gozaimasu / ございます
Used for politeness.
I couldn’t think of anything to do this year for Oku Hanako’s 38th birthday, and the usual release around her birthday had already passed, so here’s fellow fan Denny Sinnoh with his greeting.

I actually accidentally reblogged this on the wrong blog, then went through the trouble of moving it to the right one; it doesn’t help that WordPress.com only lets you reblog a post once without a way to “unreblog”, so I had to export and import the post. That’s why you have two almost identical pingbacks below. Oh well.
